RANGERS HOME TO DRUMANESS MILLS IN BORDER CUP - Rathfriland Rangers this Saturday host Drumaness Mills in a Border Cup tie at Iveagh Park. The visitors ply their trade in Division 1A of the Amateur League and are currently sitting fifth in the league. This will be a tough fixture but after disposing of Division 1A side Downpatrick in the previous round they have nothing to fear. After the postponement of last week`s Bob Radcliffe cup tie at Newry City The Whites will be itching to get back at it come this weekend Kick off 2pm.

SWIFTS IN DERBY FIXTURE - Rathfriland Swifts this Saturday will host Banbridge Town Reserves in a derby league fixture at Ibgram Park. It is very early days in this Reserve Championship but Rathfriland should have enough to make it through and get the three points. Kick off 2.15pm.

SWIFTS RESERVES AWAY TO LURGAN UNITED RESERVES - Rathfriland Swifts Reserves this Saturday will play Lurgan Utd Reserves for the second time in seven days with their away version of this fixture. The Swifts Reserves thumped Lurgan 10–0 on Saturday past but would take 1–0 away this Saturday. Kick off 2.15pm.

COLTS AWAY TO `HINCH - Rathfriland Colts will travel to Ballynahinch Utd this Saturday in a league fixture. They have been playing well with a lot of young players and are enjoying the experience of these fixtures. Kick off 2pm.

COMMITTEE MEETING - The October committee meeting will take place at the clubrooms Tuesday 16th September at 7pm. Please note the new earlier start time.

RATHFRILAND FC YOUTH - Rathfriland FC Youth section of the club is back in full swing after the summer recess with training continuing on Wednesday evenings at Iveagh Park from 7 – 8pm. Annual membership fees for the 2012 / 13 season is one child £25, two children £40, three or more £50 Under 8`s £5. All existing and new players welcome.

WELL DONE MATTHEW - Well done to young Matthew Johnston who scored his first goal at senior level for Rathfriland colts against Strangford on Saturday. Great to see the young boys coming through.

CONGRATULATIONS! - Congratulations to Christopher McConville and Johnny Faulkner who both got married in the last week – not too each other though! All the best to you and the wives!

Alfie is a vice – president of the club and does a lot of hard work behind the scenes. Alfie is a regular sponsor of the club and this time around is equally well appreciated.

MORE POWER TO YOU! - Well done to Conan Power and Ryan Monaghan who have taken over the reigns of the management of the Swifts Reserves this season. Conan hails from Waterford above all places and has played at Republic of Ireland youth level and has teamed up with injured Swifts player and brother – in – law Ryan for the season - the boys have taken 10 points out of a possible 12 and are playing some great football – more Power to you!

CLUB STEAK BBQ - There will be a club steak barbeque at Rathfriland FC this Saturday 29th September at the clubrooms at 7.30pm. Steak tickets are priced at a very reasonable £10 each. Cook your steak to your liking and then enjoy the music afterwards by Rio. Everyone can look forward to a great nights craic – a big crowd is expected - come along and enjoy the fun!

RADCLIFFE CUP DISSAPPOINTMENT - After the court order and subsequent IFA meeting to suspend Newry City from all football, the Bob Radcliffe Cup tie on Saturday past against Rathfriland Rangers has been left in limbo. One way or the other it will have to resolved quickly with fixtures coming thick and fast at this stage of the season.
