Tournament to help raise money for Oliver’s fund

A 5-a-side tournament to raise money for the ‘Help Wee Oliver Walk’ appeal will be held in Coleraine Leisure Centre on Sunday 23 February.

Nicky Hanna, who is heavily involved in local football, is one of the main organisers of the fundraiser.

“I think the whole town has been touched by Oliver’s story,” he said.

“Chatting with a few friends on Facebook we came up with the idea of running a 5-a-side tournament.

“It has got a really good response so far and hopefully should help raise a good bit of money for the fund.

“I would just like to thank local councillor Claire Sugden for her help in securing the Leisure Centre.

“I’d also like to thank Steven’s Fuels who are sponsoring the event and Coleraine Social Club who will be providing entertainment afterwards.

“Also thank you to everyone else who has offered us sponsorship and support.

“I would invite all interested players to sort their teams and get them entered at the cost of £50. I will be limiting teams so first paid is guaranteed a space.”
