The table-toppers come to Crystal Park on Saturday (kick-off 3pm) and will no doubt remember their 8-0 victory the last time the sides met.

So do Town. And boss Watson says the visitors will face a totally different prospect this time around.

“I think they’ll see a different Banbridge Town this season,” he told the ‘LEADER.’

“That result doesn’t go away. It’s in the back of your mind. It was a freakish day up there but it will be an extra motivator for us, if it was needed.”

Tobermore’s last trip to Crystal Park in October last year was an altogether different story as Town ran out comfortable 4-0 victors.

In fact, the local side have been beaten just twice in the last 14 meetings between the two sides.

That, couple with an impressive point at Limavady last weekend, give Town every reason to be confident of avenging their shocking away defeat last season.

Watson is also keen to give the fans something to shout about after a drab opening day defeat at the hands of Glebe Rangers.

He said: “We really want to make up for our first league match at home and, coming off the back of a great point at Limavady, we want to get our first win. That’s the objective on Saturday and we know that we are well capable of doing that.

“In Championship Two, it’s all about who turns up and wants it more. They will be battle hard so we need to want it.

“We’ll be going at them and taking the game to them.”

Tobermore have won both of their opening fixtures, edging both Coagh United and Portstewart 1-0.

“They have got off to a great start,” conceded Watson.

“They will be on the crest of a wave, sitting joint top of the league and will be coming to Crystal Park in a positive frame of mind.”
