After finally bagging their first victory in eight Championship Two matches on Saturday, boss Ryan Watson is keen for his players to keep up that level of performance.

They host Queen’s University this evening (kick-off 6.30pm) before travelling to face Annagh United on Saturday (kick-off 3pm) and Town are keen to keep the criticism at bay with another two results.

“We have had a lot of negative things said about us recently but we know that we can match the best teams when we put in that high work-rate,” he said.

“That’s football and we take those criticisms on the chin. We know we didn’t do well in recent weeks. The players have taken a hammering but we’ve stuck together and they have bounced back.”

Queen’s are fresh off the back of a 7-1 win over Wakehurst and will provide stiff opposition tonight at Crystal Park.

“They like to play good football and we’ll need to be on our game to beat them,” said Watson.

“Then the two back to back games against Annagh United will be very interesting with them still going for promotion.”
