Armagh are unbeaten at their home ground in just over a year, since they lost 3-1 to PSNI on February 2, 2013.

This season, they have won all eight league games at Holm Park, saw off Premiership side Ards in the Irish Cup and have already won the Bob Radcliffe Cup.

Town boss Ryan Watson, however, is hoping to bring that breath-taking home run to an abrupt end this evening.

He said: “Their record speaks for itself. They are unbeaten at home for a long, long time. That record’s there to be broken though. That’s our incentive.

“They’re flying at the minute but it’s a game we are relishing. We’re going in as underdogs and we have nothing to lose. It’ll make a nice change from the league campaign. If we can bring our ‘A-game’, there’s no reason why we can’t get a result. Hopefully, they’ll have one eye on their Irish Cup game on Saturday.”

Armagh are taking on Glentoran in the Irish Cup sixth round on Saturday and Town are hoping to take advantage of their opponents’ packed fixture list to go through to the last four.

Town, of course, were beaten by Dungannon in the Mid-Ulster Cup final last season and Watson is hoping the memories of that cup run, which saw them beat Premiership side Glenavon in the semi-final, will fire them on to an unfancied victory tonight.

He said: “The players still at the club now have that experience, which is vital. Just being there and having done it all before will stand by them.

“It’ll all come down to who wants it more.”
