Town Seniors, Juniors and Ladies in further talks

A new working committee set up to discuss the way forward for Banbridge Town Seniors, Juniors and Ladies to move forward as one club is set to meet this week.

Talks were said to have broken down between the senior and junior clubs but now an amalgamation could be back on the cards after an initial meeting held last week.

There, executive members of both Banbridge Town Senior Club and its Junior counterparts were in full agreement that the only way forward was for all parties associated with Banbridge Town Football Club to come together as one organisation.

The meeting was attended, not only by representatives of the Seniors and Juniors, but also by many of the Club’s coaches, the Supporters Club and those having close contact with Banbridge Town ladies FC.

Speakers at the meeting vigorously expressed their desire for the various sections to move forward together and following a direct question it was unanimously agreed that all parties should work tirelessly towards that goal.

It was agreed that a working party should be set up under the guidance of an independent Chairman and that 2 Committee members from each section should meet on future dates on a regular basis in order to re-ignite what the Chairman on the night described as a “fractured process.”

These meetings will work on the basis of a proposal put forward by a Senior member of the Supporters Club of Banbridge Town and it is now hoped that this excellent new development will give huge optimism to all those who continue to be passionate about the future of all aspects of Banbridge Town Football Club.
