TRANSFER NEWS: Cliftonville enter race to sign Larne striker Murray

The Times understands Danske Bank Premiership giants Cliftonville have entered the race to sign Larne striker Ciaran Murray.

Earlier today the frontman was linked with a move to Ballymena United but it is understood the 27-year-old may now opt to join Tommy Breslin’s Reds.

Murray arrived at Larne from Amateur League side Immaculata and in recent weeks officials have dismissed rumours linking him with a move away from the Inver Park club.

He was was top scorer last season and has bagged six goals from five starts this term.

Over the weekend, Larne boss Davy McAlinden told the club’s website that he does not expect to make any more new signings ahead of the transfer deadline but that could change if a deal is done for Murray.

Meanwhile, Larne defender Curtis Woods has joined Ballyclare Comrades.
