“It is with great sadness that we at the Irish Football Association learn of the sudden death of our friend and work colleague Wesley Gregg.

“This comes as a massive shock to us all. Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife Irene, his sons Chris and Ricky and the wider Gregg family at this very sad time.

“Wesley was a pivotal figure in our Football Development Department and a friend to all.

“His passion for football was limitless, infectious and inspiring. He was a friend, a mentor, a fan, a champion, a grandfather, a father, a husband, a brother, a son and a true gentleman.

“He will be deeply missed by the whole football family.”
