Tricky test for Islanders in Irish Cup

ISlandMagee have been handed a tricky test in the of the JJB Sports Irish Cup.

Their reward for seeing off Dunmurry YM is an away day to Mid-Ulster outfit Tandragee Rovers in the second round.

Speaking to the Times manager Stephen Donald said it’s a game he and his team will look forward to.

“They are second in their league and have only lost once this season,” he said. “They beat Grove United 3-0 in the last round so it looks like it will be a tough game.

“It’s a day out for us but we have to be confident going into the game. It’s a couple of weeks away so I have a bit of time to do a bit of groundwork on them.”

Larne Tech Old Boys are away to Armagh-based Lisanally Rangers, conquerors of Nortel in opening round of the competition while Tommy Leeman’s Wellington Rec will be aiming to make home advantage count again when they welcome Lower Maze in the next round.

Ties to be played on October 22.
