Trio take it to the max in Division Three

IN a week where 11 points were gained by one shot, only three of these were registered in the games at Round Tower and Dunclug PTA, where both teams chalked up 'clean sweeps'.

The Antrim-based team had single shot wins from Gilmore Campbell and Michael Teer, whereas Kevin McLarnon and John O'Neill had clear wins against the Eaton Park rinks skipped by Bonr Hill and Gary Shaw respectively.

This was sweet revenge for Round Tower, who had lost four points at the rugby club venue in the first half of the league.

Dunclug PTA also gained revenge on Glenravel in their game at the Doury Road school, as the PTA had shed four points on their trip to the village earlier in the campaign.

A clean sweep on their home mats materialised with Noel Clarke, David Calderwood and Alan Heron all guiding their rinks to clear wins, while one shot separated Bertie Logan from Gerry Sands to complete the full set.

West Church 'B' also motched up a 'full house' in their game away to First Ballymena and they have now had two five-point hauls plus three other wins from their last six games.

The 'B' team has really got its game togather, considering they didn't win any of their opening four matches and they now sit third in the table behind leaders Dunclug PTA, who are in 31.5 points, with St Mary's on 29 and 'West' a further point back.

Joe Harris and George Arthur's rinks had comfortable wins, while Albert Henry won by two shots and David Aicken had a single shot success over Jean Mullan.

St Mary's game at home to Services 'B' produced two single shot winning points, one being the overall total, while John Smith's unit had a shot in hand against Kieran Adams.

Sheila Smith was a seven shot victor against Charlie Graham and the home Bannsiders had wins for Patsy Boyd and James McCann, which totalled that one shot ahead of the visitors.
