Trophy treble for star man Sellars at 18th Old Boys' prize-giving

There was a trophy treble for Matthew Sellars as 18th Newtownabbey Old Boys held their annual presentation night. He took both the Manager's and Players' Player of the Year awards, as well as receiving the Clubman of the Year trophy.

Eighteenth started the season with a new manager in Phil McMahon, but while there was a notable Irish Cup success over Mossley, it was when Mark Miskimmin came in as joint-manager, along with a cluster of new players, that things really took off, with 40 points out of their last 45.

The damage, though, was done in the opening 11 games, but Miskimmin stressed: “We knew it was all too late, but it was all about coming in and laying the foundations for next season, where we can have a real go at promotion.”
