Two late goals for Goodyear stun Donacloney

After a break of seven weeks since their last game away to Aghalee Village, and with a lot of work on the pitch on Saturday morning to ensure the game went ahead, Donacloney returned to action in Division 3 on Saturday past at home to Goodyear.

Just one point separated the sides going in to this closely contested game.

Donacloney took an early lead. Tommy McElroy was fouled inside the box and Ben Nelson stepped up to successfully convert the resulting penalty.

The ‘Cloney had further pressure and chances in the opening 20 minutes before Goodyear started pushing forward themselves.

Donacloney ‘keeper made important saves either side of half-time to keep the score at 1-0.

Donacloney introduced Darren Brooker to the game as a second half substitute for Kiefer O’Boyle.

Brooker was making his first appearance after transferring back to the club from Seapatrick.
