U13s are thumped

Banbridge Town U13s......................2

Dromara...........................................7

BANBRIDGE U13s crashed out to Dromara in the first round of the Lisburn Invitational Cup.

In a roller-coaster first half, Banbridge recovered well from one down only to be pegged back and then concede three goals in quick succession.

Town’s opener came courtesy of a Neil Cherry through ball into the heart of the Dromara defence which was driven home by Aaron Thompson. Michael Colfer then put Banbridge ahead with a crisp finish from the edge of the box.

What turned out to be the defining moment of the match came soon afterwards when midfielder Curtis Stewart was denied what seemed to be a stonewall penalty claim. This somehow unsettled Banbridge and Dromara took advantage of some defensive mishaps to virtually seal the game by the interval.

Banbridge contained Dromara for much of the second half and created a few openings of their own despite conceding twice more.
