U15s have a long trip home

Magherfelt Sky Blues U15 8

Banbridge Town U15 0

TOWN Juniors U15’s had an early start as they made the long journey to Magherfelt Sky Blues and it showed in the first 15 minutes of the game when they found themselves 3-0 down.

Two of the goals were due to very poor defending and the third was conceded when goalkeeper Shane Campbell failed to hold a shot from the edge of the box.

The Juniors came into the game after this setback and a long range shot from the hard-working Dominic Donnelly just went wide of the post.

Minutes later Matthew Miller should have made the Sky Blues goalkeeper work when well placed.

A very strong Magherfelt team put the match out of the Juniors reach when with 10 minutes to the break scored their fourth goal after the Juniors failed to clear the ball out of defence. Just before half-time things got worse for the Juniors when they conceded a fifth.

With the introduction of substitutes Ross Allen and Daniel Law for the second half the Juniors began to play a lot better. Allen in particular was causing problems down the left flank and from one of his passes striker Miller should have opened their account 10 minutes into the half but failed to take advantage.

The Sky Blues added a further three goals to inflect the Juniors worst defeat this season.

Best for the Juniors was the Ryan Finnegan with his never-say-die attitude.
