Under-11s through in NIBFA Cup

Coleraine Academy U11’s travelled to Dungoyne in the second round of the NIBFA Cup. This was the first competitive match at 11-a-side that they had ever played as a team but this did not hinder them in the slightest as they ran out comfortable 6-0 winners.

From the outset the team played some fantastic football with captain Scott McDonald the outstanding player on the pitch. Scott displayed a tremendous range of passing throughout the game and this enabled the other Academy players the time and space to demonstrate the pass and move football for which they are renowned.

The goals were scored by Charlie O’Neill, Brett Downey (2), Luke McElfatrick (2) and Ben Moore but each of the goals were the result of a real team effort in the buildup play. The teamwork, communication and determination shown by every Coleraine player was highly commendable and was complimented upon afterwards by both neutrals and opposition alike. Well done boys!

Man of the Match: Scott McDonald.
