Under-12s top of the bill for Northend United Youth

The U12s were this week's top bill for the Northend teams with a good 3-1 win over Loughgall in the Daily Mirror Lisburn Youth League.

The U11s were also in action in the Lisburn Cup where they lost narrowly to Carniny after dominating the early exchanges in the match.

Elsewhere in the Lisburn League there were defeats for the U14s and U17s, both against Hillsborough Boys.

Due to the North West and Coleraine District league at the University being cancelled again this week, Northend U9s took part in the Irish FA’s small sided games at the Ballymena Showgrounds.

UNDER-11

Northend United 2, Carniny 3: Jay McKeown gave Northend an early lead and although Carniny equalised, Shea O’Broin put Northend ahead again before the break when he capitalised on a poor clearance.

At the start of the second half Northend never really got going as Carniny came back strongly to score twice.

Northend United 3, Loughgall 1: Northend responded well to going a goal down after eight minutes to battle back to win thanks to goals from Kai Barr, and a double strike from Tyrone Mitchell.

UNDER-14

Northend United 2, Hillsborough 5: Northend were two goals down at the break and three quick goals in the second half put the game beyond them before Scott Foster came off the bench to score twice.

Hillsborough 6, Wakehurst 3: Defensive frailities cost Wakehurst as they had been level at 3-3 thanks to a brace from Owen Dick - his first goals of the season - and Jack Anderson.

Dick thought he had put Wakehurst 4-3 ahead, only to be denied by a great save and Wakehurst conceded three goals in the final ten minutes.
