INSTITUTE Under 15's moved two points clear at the top of the North West and Coleraine District Youth League with an emphatic 5-1 victory over second placed Moyola on St Patricks Day.

Playing on Moyola's new 3G surface the visitors made the most of the perfect pitch and got off to a brilliant start after only two minutes when a super header clear from the back by Reuben Hollywood was won by Lee Olphert, his through ball fell perfectly to strike partner Aaron Tarr who slid the ball under the advancing keeper to open the scoring.

Moyola then came close to equalising minutes later however a great cross from the left somehow sneaked past David McFaul's back post and wide for a goal kick.

In the 23rd minute Institute doubled their lead with man of the match Olphert again in the thick of the action. He managed to break up play in the centre circle before playing a superb through ball to Tarr who clinically lobbed the advancing keeper with one touch from 30 yards.

Minutes later however the hosts were back in the game when Hollywood got caught square and the Moyola striker's snap shot somehow evaded McFaul in the 'Stute goal.

To their credit however, the young 'Stute side took the game to the hosts and deservedly restored their two goal advantage on the stroke of half time when superb work on the left by Jordan Greer saw him produce a fantastic ball to Tarr who made no mistake to complete his first half hat trick and put the game beyond Moyola.

That goal proved decisive for 'Stute and they went on to dominate the second half.

Their fourth goal duly arrived eleven minutes from time when Gareth Connor broke up play and produced an incredible ball through to Nicky Morton. He then produced an equally good first time ball to John Kyle who beat two defenders before smashing the ball into the roof of the net from outside the box to complete a super flowing move any team would have been proud off producing.

Institute concluded a resounding performance seven minutes from time by making it five when captain Greer's never say die attitude saw him win a ball he wasn't favourite for before playing it through to Aaron Tarr for the Prehen youngster to make it five and round of a fantastic performance by the young lads from Drumahoe.

The Under 15's continued their great run on Saturday with another victory over Moyola, this time in the preliminary round first leg of the North West Cup.

Despite a less than convincing performance, a well deserved Lee Olphert double gave them a 2-1 advantage going into the second leg.
