Super sprinters and willing walkers will all feel at home with a choice of one, three or six miles and can enter now at sportrelief.com, get sponsored and help transform the lives of people living here in the UK and in some of the world’s poorest countries, while being part of an incredible nationwide event.

Iain Black from Ballymena United said: “We are delighted that so many people have already signed up but we want even more people in Ballymena to take part and make it the best Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Mile yet.

“So let’s show the rest of the country what we can do and raise as much money as we possibly can for this incredible cause!”

Ballymena United and Ballymena Runners are teaming up once again to co-host the event and this year Sainsbury’s have been providing excellent support in terms of promoting, publicising and providing volunteers for the day.

In 2012 the Ballymena Mile had around 160 participants, but this year Sport Relief have provided resources for over 220 participants, so sign up now before all the spaces are filled!

Participants are asked to note that due to the route layout, entrance to the Showgrounds for cars will be via the Ecos entrance only.

There will also be having a fun family atmosphere on the day with a bouncy castle and slide, football competitions, music, face painting and zorbing. Even if you are not a runner then there’s plenty for everyone to get involved with, so come along.
