The match was originally postponed last month because of the terrible weather and City boss Roddy Collins will be happy that the friendly has been re-arranged, as he looks to step up his preparations for the start of the Airtricity League Premier Division season.

The Candystripes then face Irish League Premiership team Coleraine, at the Brandywell, this Saturday (KO 1pm), where the likes of ex-City players Eugene Ferry, Ruairi Harkin and Davy McDaid will be back looking to get one over their former team-mates.

All proceeds from the match against Oran Kearney’s side will go to Derry City’s all-time leading goal scorer Mark Farren, after similar plans for Mark fell through following the cancellation of the friendly against Glentoran due to snow.
