United under-10s put on impressive show in Slemish Cup

The Youth Academy youngsters enjoyed a productive day as they reached the final of the competition.

The boys progressed through their group with some exciting play and Michael McClean had a memorable Saturday as he picked up the player of the tournament award.

As the sky blues under 10’s sign sign off for a well deserved break,the 2003 group continue began their training schedule for the Foyle Cup where they will compete alongside their under 12 compatriots.

The under 13s coaching team have been working hard post season to secure some top talent for the side on top of their existing playing staff.

The group began their preparations with a 4-0 win over the highly impressive Glentoran 2004 side last Thursday night at Crumlin.

Goals for United came from new cup signings and clubni internationals Luke McConnell and Charie Allen with impressive debuts for a number of others including local lad returning to his hometown club, Oisin O’Mullan.

The group face the current NI 2004 group this Thursday night in what will be a testing tie but again excellent preparations for the prestigious North West festival in July and the United youngsters will be stepping up their preparations over the coming weeks.
