The former Ballymena United youth team manager has returned to his former club to sign two attacking players and a goalkeeper.

Adams has signed winger Stewart Nixon, who has made a handful of first appearances for Ballymena United.

“Stewarty is one of the hardest workers on the pitch you’ll ever see and he’s our type of player. He never gives up and is a super addition to the squad of talented players at our disposal,” said Adams.

The manager has also boosted his attacking options by snapping up Zach Barr, who can play as a striker or attacking midfielder.

Zach previously played for Ballymena United and spent time with Glebe Rangers in Championship 2 in the season just past.

“Zach is a proven goalscorer who will be a big asset to the team throughout the season. He signed within ten minutes of talking to him and can’t wait to get started.”

The third signing is goalkeeper Andy Findlay, from Coleraine, who some Ballymena United fans may remember making his debut for the Bannsiders against the Sky Blues a couple of seasons ago.

“Andy cant waited to get started at his new club and help us push for the league title,” said Adams.

All three players are expected to play key roles as Wakehurst embark upon their first season in the Ballymena & Provincial Intermediate League, following relegation from the NIFL Championship.

George and Ryan Young are leaving the club due to work and family commitments and are joining hometown club Galgorm Blues in the Saturday Morning League.
