Veteran defender Stevenson, a stalwart of the club since their admission to the Irish League a decade ago said: “It was a horrible day for us.

“I remember us losing heavily at Dergview a few seasons back but I can’t ever recall such a collective and individual off-day.

“No-one is more culpable in that than me because I believe I was responsible for at least four of Glebe’s goals.

“Our goalkeeper Aodhan Tolan couldn’t be faulted and, strangely, given the result, the other two of our players who emerged with any credit were our front two of George Young and Conor Gregg but in terms of the defensive and midfield units, we simply had a shocker.

“We haven’t a great record historically at Glebe but, looking at their results and ours before the game, we were confident we could get a good result.

“But we conceded a goal from a corner after four minutes and it just got worse from there - it was certainly the worst experience I have had on a football pitch.

“It’s a result that will probably raise a few eyebrows among Championship Two teams in that it didn’t happen to us against what people might describe as one of the ‘top’ teams - and I mean no disrespect to Glebe who were obviously miles better than us on the day.

“We have no game this Saturday which is a pity because the boys are very keen to get that one out of their systems.

“We will have a chat about what went wrong and get down to some hard work,” added Stevenson.
