Wakehurst suffer second defeat at hands of PSNI
Having been walloped 7-2 at Newforge earlier in the season, the Ballymena men came out on the wrong end of a 2-1 defeat in Saturday’s return fixture at Mill Meadow.
“I thought a draw would probably have been a fair result,” Gregg told Times Sport.

“David Gage chipped in with another goal from the back which is good, because we rely too heavily on our strikers for goals.
“We’ve 12 games to go and if we put a great run together, finishing in the top six wouldn’t be out of the question, but the reality is, it looks as though we’re likely to finish in mid-table again,” added Gregg.
Wakehurst were considerably understrength due to injuries and other commitments but they started the game brightly with a Lee McCaughern effort on 4 minutes which appeared to be cleared by the hand of a PSNI defender in the box but the referee didnt want to know.

Hide AdWakehurst paid the price for spurning opportunities on 37 minutes when, against the run of play, Robbie Knox broke down the left and fired a shot over Marc Maybin which hit the inside of the post and ended up in the net to make it 1-0 to PSNI at half time.
Wakehurst equalised three minutes after the break when a cross from Lee McCaughern found David Gage at the back post and he headed the ball past the flat footed Keith Wilson in the PSNI goal to make it 1-1.
Wakehurst found themselves behind again on 55 minutes when Adamcyzk ran onto a ball chipped behind the Wakehurst defence and he blasted the ball low into the bottom corner to make it 2-1.
In the 89th minute, Wakehurst should have gained a point when a deep free kick from McCaughern missed everyone and fell to Roy Colville at the back post. Colville struck the ball really well which produced a good save from Keith Wilson to deny Wakehurst their deserved equaliser.
