Wanderers have chance to move into pole position

City Cup holders Lisahally had a convincing 4-1 win against Dromore in Saturday’s first round tie thanks to goals from Molineux, Harkin, Whoriskey and McGlinchey.

Kick Start were trounced 10 two by a rampant Drummond United with McClean helping himself to four of them.

Tullyally Colts defeated Roe Rovers 3-0 with Cooke, Wray and Kayne on target.

BBOB got their season back on track with an excellent 3-0 win over Claudy Rovers with goals from Boyd, Garden and a super goal from Stuart Moore.

Eglinton thanks to a Mark Averill hat-trick were to strong for Artigarvan winning 6-2.

Churchill bowed out on penalties at Sion Swifts while Irish Street were beaten 5-1 at home to Draperstown Reserves.

In the derby match at Newbuildings the home side lost 3-1 to Foyle Wanderers with Robbie Godfrey bagging a brace.

Douglas Bridge had an impressive 7-3 home win over Roe Valley, Caw bowed out losing 4-1 to Greysteel.

In the only game in the Premiership leaders Ardmore lost 3-1 at Lincoln Courts, the Courts scorers were Steven Mooney, Armstong and an own goal.

There are just three games in the Premiership this Saturday.

The home side showed improved form last week and when they are at full strength they are a match for anyone in the division. However they have lost their first two league games.

Can this be the Courts’ year? They were impressive in their win over previously unbeaten Ardmore which now means that they are joint top of the table. They have to be the favourites to win this one.

BBOB v Foyle Wanderers

Manager Don Olphert will have been pleased with his sides performance last Saturday. They played some good football in that one with the experience of Graham Philson and Stuart Moore shining through.

Wanderers last season’s champions have got off to a flyer in defence of their title another side who like to knock it about, and the old boys will have to keep a tight watch on Robbie Godfrey.

Prediction: Score draw

Lisahally v Drummond

The Maydown men have had a mixed start to the season winning one and losing the other. However they are a decent side and very hard to beat on their home patch. They had four different players on the score sheet last week always a good sign.

Drummond score 10 last week and that shows what they are capable of. The home side will have to keep close tabs on McClean and Doherty who shared seven goals between them last week.
