Waterside derbycan’t be settled

The weather again meant very few games went ahead in the North West.

The only game in the Premier Division was a 1-1 draw as Newbuildings United Reserves and Lincoln Courts shared the points. Hamilton put Lincoln ahead but Wayne Glenn equalised to earn a point for Newbuildings Reserves.

In the Second Division a very strong BBOB Reserves team lost 3-0 at home to Roe Rovers Reserves, although it 0-0 after 73 minutes.

Timmy Douglas again was on target, his 17th goal for Rovers Reserves this season and he has scored in every game except one. Mark Rafferty and skipper Matty Hamilton grabbed the other late goals.

Lincoln Courts Reserves defeated Artigarvan in the other game in the Second Division, a solitary strike from Johnny Carr enough to gain three points for the Waterside men.

There were two games played in the City Cup; Premier Division side City Colts won 4-0 at home to Limavdy Rugby Club Reserves. Brendan Deane, David Doherty, Eoghan Moore and Column Donaghy all found the net for the Colts.

In the other cup game it was a derby thriller between two of the best footballing teams in the league and Caw ran out 3-2 winners over Tullyally Colts.
