Waveney reflect on successful first season

WAVENEY Youth FC U13s held their first annual prize night on Saturday in the Des Allen Suite at the Showgrounds.

Guest speaker and presenter on the night was Ballymena United Captain Gary Haveron.

There was a video presentation of the team showing their various activities during the season and team manager Colin Stewart would like to thank all the boys and their parents for their contribution during the season.

The club received the Fair Play Award from the Belfast & East Antrim Youth League at the annual AGM meeting on Sunday.

Throughout the season referees award points after each game based on the behaviour and conduct of the players and supporters. It is quite an honour to have received this award in our first season. The prize night award winners are listed below.

Player of the Year - Jonathan Logan; Leading Goalscorer - Kyle Jackson; Clubman of the Year - Michael Balmer; Sportsman of the Year (joint winners) - Jordan Stewart, Chris Stock, Jake Frew; Most Improved Player (joint winners) - Craig Gaston, Kurtis Brown; Outstanding Commitment Award Winners - Craig Gaston, Ryan Stewart, Jonathan Logan, Jordan Stewart.
