We all have to pull together - Beverland

COLERAINE skipper Howard Beverland says a ‘collective effort’ is needed to push the Bannsiders up the table.

“We all have to chip in. We can’t blame the strikers for not scoring, or the defenders and goalkeeper for conceding,” said Beverland.

“We are all in this together, and we all have to chip in with goals and defend as a team.

“It will be all hands to the pump, but all the lads recognise that and now we can’t wait to get out there again.

“Every time you lose you just want to get back out on the pitch and put things right.”

Beverland believes no club has grasped the mantle during the early weeks of the new season. Only four points separate fourth and 10th spot in the table.

“No-one has been going all guns blazing, and if someone can put a run together they will fly up the table,” the defender added.

“That’s what we have to try and do. We proved what we are capable of against Cliftonville, but we didn’t kick on.

“Was it complacency? I am not sure. But we know we have to raise our game again in the weeks ahead.”
