We need to be clinical in front of goal

CELTIC manager Ciaran O’Kane will want his side to be more clinical in front of goal than they were last week.

Their impressive run of results came crashing down last Saturday when they were beaten 2-1.

“The run was always going to come to an end. You can’t go through a season without losing,” said Ciaran. “But I was disappointed that we did not get something out of the match.

“We played poorly in the first half and were lucky to go in 1-1 at half-time.

“I thought we could step it up in the second half and we did that. But we could not convert the numerous chances we had and that came back to haunt us in the last few minutes when we gave away a goal through poor defending.

“I was not disappointed by the general play but we were not clinical enough in taking our chances.

“When you are on top you have got to take your chances, even just one of them to put you ahead.”

Hopefully they can get back on track this Saturday when they travel for a local derby against Annagh United.

“They have some experienced players like Shea Campbell,” said Ciaran.

“The had lost four in a row but won 4-1 away last Saturday and will be buoyed by that. It should be a difficult game.

“I’m hoping that we can bounce back. It’s very important how we react after that defeat.”

And for the first time this season the manager will have a full squad to pick from.

Paul Donegan, Declan McVeigh and Stefan Campbell who were unavailable last week are in the panel for the game at Annagh.
