A misplaced pass from PSNI right back Shane Brennan put Mark McKane clear only to see the striker drive wide when he looked certain to score.

Ballymoney lost Keane just before half time, through what looked to be a serious knee injury as he had to be taken away in an ambulance.

In a much better second half the Police took the lead after 66 minutes when Adamczyk and Robbie Knox combined for Adamczyk to score with a ground shot past the advancing Moore.

Ballymoney responded well with Keith Wilson making a series of excellent saves including a low drive from Mark Gillan after he was left unmarked on the right. With time running out Daniel Laverty attacked down the left producing an excellent cross for Gavin Gilmore to power a great header past Wilson from 6 yards.
