Wee Whites get back to action

Distillery U-10’s made the journey to UUJ to play some friendly games with Greenisland.

The first match saw the Wee Whites come up against a very strong Greenisland team.

The first period was very tight with James Clyde pulling the strings in midfield supplying some excellent balls to both Jonathan McCullough and Kenzie Bradley.

The Whites were a couple of goals down when a mazy run from Jonathan saw his shot deflect into the bottom corner.

The next period saw the Whites both attacking and defending very well but nothing would break for them.

The last period was as the first, the boys were playing good football but between Greenisland being a very good team and no luck they couldn’t find the net.

Overall it was a good performance after the Christmas break and all the boys slotted into their positions excellently.

Game two was another exciting affair. The Wee Whites started strongly with Jake Donaghy pulling the strings in the middle of the park.

Somewhat against the run of play Greenisland got a goal. It didn’t take long for the boys to get on the score sheet when Ross White finished a flowing move.

Number two came soon after from the same source when Ross showed great ability to finish with a neat flick over the keeper.

Period two saw the Greenisland boys come back into the contest but Spencer Maxwell was superb in the Whites defence and he was ably assisted by both Noah Kelly and Ben Coulter.

The boys then got back on top and it was no surprise to see Ross complete his hat trick when he tapped the ball home.

A performance which put a smile on the Whites’ coaching staff’s faces.
