In the past few weeks the club has been unfortunate to have lost the management for both the First and Second teams, which has caused the committee and players grave concern.

Wesley have had some great success stories in the past and the committee would like for the club to return to those days, but they need players who want to train and play for a club that has aspirations to grow and succeed.

Brian Crawford, Wesley’s Vice Chairman stated: “It is becoming increasingly difficult to attract players to any Amateur League Club, with a number of the bigger clubs having their own pitches and signing way more players than they could ever actually field. Plus the number of clubs that are in the Lisburn League also hits heavily.

“Wesley are a long standing club who take great pride in competing with two teams, but this year it has been a huge struggle to entice players to pre season training and to eventually sign for the club. We are aware that clubs have way in excess of the players they require, so if you are not getting a shirt on Saturday’s and you would like to train with another club, come along and see what we can offer you.

“At this time we would also appreciate any interested parties with relevant coaching/management experience, who feel they could contribute to the development of the club and are willing to take up a manager’s position to please contact us directly.”

Anyone interested in joining Wesley can contact Chairman Stephen Spence on 07740 944 487 or Brian Crawford on 07703 490 260.
