Whites get back to league action with a trip to Bangor

Whites boss Tommy Kincaid knows the visit to the Bangor Fuels Arena (kick off 3pm) won’t be easy, but he believes with his sides recent performances they “can match anybody”.

Despite a 2-0 defeat to H&W Welders last time out in the league, Kincaid could only praise his men who battled to the end, despite going down to ten men in the first 10 minutes.

With no league fixture last weekend, the Whites defeated Newington 2-1 in a friendly game at New Grosvenor with the goals coming from Fabrice Kragba and Denver Taggart (pen).

However, the win was tempered by a suspected ligament damage injury to forward Mikey Withers.

Speaking about tomorrow’s visit to Bangor, Kincaid commented: “We’re looking forward to it. We know it’s going to be a very hard game, they all are, and with the artificial pitch down there, that’s certainly an advantage to Bangor, but there’s a good mood in the camp.

“Last week’s friendly wasn’t just a friendly against anyone, it was a good side we played, they got a good result against a Premier League side during the week.

“Our performance against H&W Welders was outstanding,” he added.

“We were down to 10 men after 10 minutes and we feared the worst; they are one of the best sides in the league.

“But the boys were brilliant, they defended really well, and it wasn’t just that we defended the whole match, we created chances, and that was with players missing through injury, suspension or not available.

“We need to continue to perform like that and turn it into points,” Kincaid added. “If we perform the way I know we can, we can match anybody.”
