Coleman thrilled to be part of Molloy’s big day

Everton’s Seamus Coleman admitted he had no hesitation to return to the Brandywell for Barry Molloy’s Testimonial today (Sunday).

The Republic of Ireland defender, who managed James McClean’s XI, conceded the minute his team-mate rung him about the game, he made sure that he would be there for Molloy’s big day.

Ryan McBride gave Molloy’s XI the lead before the break, but second half goals from Ruairi Harkin, McClean, Seamus Sharkey and David McDaid completed the 4-1 win for McClean’s XI, which featured Premier League men Shane Ferguson, Danny Lafferty and Shane Duffy.

Also playing in the game was McClean’s former Wigan manager Owen Coyle and ex-Derry City favourites Mark McChrystal and Stephen McLaughlin.

Coleman spoke to Sentinel Sport’s Editor Kevin McLaughlin prior to this afternoon’s match.
