Ten minutes before half-time, Youth went 2-0 up. A great Adam Donnelly corner led to Leighton Jameson scoring his first goal of the season with a thumping header into the corner.

The second half didn’t start according to plan and Oxford scored within a couple of minutes. Soon after, it was 2-2.

Lisburn regained the lead through some excellent work by Adam Donnelly, who crossed for David Faulkner to fire home.

Oxford levelled with 10 minutes left but Faulkner grabbed the winner. He struck with great power into the bottom corner to seal the win. It was a great performance with Tyler Bain and Ross Kelly particularly impressive.

In the Lisburn League Cup quarter-final, the U12s had more joy, beating Carrick 5-0. The breakthrough came after 20 minutes as Tyler Bain shot in off the upright. Lisburn really found their form after the break as Hunter spun and fired the second into the corner.

The third was a super goal also as Nathan Millar’s lay-off was fired into the roof of the net by Ross Kelly. Oisin Barr soon made it 4-0 when he rounded the goalkeeper and fired into the roof of the net. The final goal of the night came from David Faulkner who struck from the edge of the area with a clinical effort.

Surprisingly it was full-back Darren Connolly who gave them the lead, catching the keeper off his line from not far past the half way line. It was a brilliant effort and a fully deserved goal. The second followed in quick succession, this time James Webb slipped in Ryan Jackson who managed to knock the ball past Shankill’s keeper and finish.

Shankill scored a penalty and then equalised as goalkeeper Aiden Frazer was unlucky to be beaten by a deflection. However, in the final moments of the game, Niall Richmond cut in field to find Lewis Parker, who, with a cool finish, won the game in dramatic fashion.
