Worst performance of the year for Town

Town were missing Keith Fannin due to his Gaelic committments so manager Ronnie Haughey was forced into changing his team and formation.

Barry Nelson came in at centre back with Stevie Jones at right back and Conor Downey playing down the middle of the park. He put in a good shift for the locals, one of the few bright points for them on an otherwise drab and dreary afternoon.

Ben Brown scored the first of three goals after 11 minutes with a glancing header after a corner had been forced back out of the box for another cross.

Later in the first half Bangor had a second ruled out for offside, a long ball was headed into the net but the home attacker had strayed too early past the Town defence.

A lofted volley almost put the Town on level terms but Bangor goalkeeper Paul Cairnduff was more than equal to the effort.

Town kept Bangor quiet until the second half when they scored with a fairly easy tap-in through Dean Youle, and then a third came not long after when Brown rifled home from 16 yards after Town had lost posession in the middle of the park.

The final nail in the coffin was a penalty by Brown after Wilson had brought down a Bangor player in the box.

Town host Ballinamallard United on Saturday (3pm) and hope to have Fannin back.

They may also have Ryan Cree back after his groin injury.

But there is a doubt over Chris Kingsberry, who has picked up a knock.
