Wright started his coaching career as a goalkeeping specialist under Glenn Roeder at Norwich City but made his move into management with the Roe Valley side in November 2003.

This was followed by spells in charge of Ballymena United and Lisburn Distillery - where he led the Whites to the Irish League Cup glory in 2011 - before he made the move to Scotland to work alongside Coleraine man Steve Lomas. Wright is also goalkeeping coach with Northern Ireland.

The former Roesiders boss, who takes over from Lomas who has taken over at Millwall, said that the opportunity to take over as gaffer meant he wasn’t tempted to follow his friend to London. “Steve asked if I was interested in going to Millwall but I wanted to stay here.”
