Yilmaz ruled out of final

LARNE frontman Sencer Yilmaz will miss the Steel and Sons Cup final through suspension.

The powerful centre-forward, who is originally from Turkey, has been handed a two-game ban meaning he will miss Saturday’s trip to Ballinamallard as well as the Christmas Eve showpiece with Bangor.

The ban, which came into effect on Monday (December 12), is further punishment for the red card he received after the final whistle in the recent win over Tobermore United at Inver Park.

Yilmaz has made 16 appearances for Larne this season, coming off the bench on six occasions. He has found the net four times. He is a handful for defenders to mark and Larne will miss his prowess in the air.
