Jarvis deal falls through after trial against Nuno Gomes

DEFENDER Dean Jarvis’ move to York City has fallen through at the last minute.

The Institute left back played in a practice game for City against a strong Blackburn Rovers side yesterday, which included Portuguese striker Nuno Gomes, Montenegro’s most capped international Simon Vukcevic and Scottish international David Goodwillie, and despite keeping a clean-sheet at half-time, Jarvis was thought to have struggled after the break.

It’s believed that York boss Gary Mills wanted a left-back to go straight into his side for this weekend’s clash against Morecambe and its thought he will continue to montior Jarvis for the remainder of the season and may look to sign him for the start of the 2013/14 campaign.

Incidentally ex-Derry City striker Davy McDaid got some much needed game time in that game against Blackburn.
