On January 21st Blaze then travelled to Portadown to play their old rivals the 'Aztecs Pumas' in a league fixture which saw the Ballymoney side win comfortably 3-0.

Blaze's cup campaign started in earnest in the last week in January where they faced another long journey south to Portadown to play 'Aztecs old boys' in the first round, the Ballymoney side winning the match convincingly 3-0. The competition is still at the group stage and one more victory would be enough to see Blaze through to the knock out rounds.

The most recent victory for Blaze came 2 weeks ago with a home win over Civil Service in the league. Blaze won the match 3-1. This string of victories has ensured that the Ballymoney side stay top of division one and remain the only undefeated side in the league this year. Team coach Kevin Uprichard said: "The club has made excellent progress this year and our commitment to youth development is starting to pay dividends.

“We are one of only two clubs in the Country who can boast a mens team made up entirely of local Northern Ireland born players. To be top of the league and undefeated in every competition so far this season is a great achievement of which everyone in the club is proud to be a part of."
