Fourball Betterball success for Ballycastle Golf Club

COLM Hendrie and Francis McGinn teamed up superbly to win Saturday’s Fourball Betterball competition at Ballycastle Golf Club with a total of 46 points.

Rory McCormick and John Callan were the runners-up with 44 points, Niall Hill and Mervyn Arbuthnot carded 43 points to finish in third with Martin Morgan and Barney McCahery in fourth place also on a total of 43 points.

Sunday’s stableford competition was won by David Getty with 42 points, just ahead of Rory McCormick in second place and Brendan McGarry in third, courtesy of a better back nine total. Eamon McCarry won the fourth prize on Sunday with 41 points.

Gerry McConville returned a score of 38 points to win the Open Stableford competition played on Wednesday 22nd September. Willis McWhirter was second with 35 points and Leslie Ferguson third also with 35 points.

Next weekend is the start of the Turkey Season at Ballycastle Golf Club with stableford competitions taking place on both Saturday and Sunday. There will also be a Veterans competition for those over the age of sixty with prizes awarded to the best five card totals over the Turkey season.

In a change to the Ringer competition this year, the Saturday Ringers will be an entirely separate competition from the Sunday Ringers.
