Fourths are held

BANBRIDGE started the game poorly conceding a sloppy goal within the first few minutes.

However they settled and dominated the first half possession. Good play down the right by Gary Dean set up Jonny Shannon to fire Banbridge level. Banbridge continued to dominate and took the lead through Mathew Warnock after more good play from Dean and David Morrison.

Bangor won a series of short corners, with one eventually being put away.

The second half saw the excellent Dean continue to cause major problems for the Bangor defence. He eventually got on the score sheet midway through the half firing the ball into the roof of the net with the aid of a deflection. At the other end goalkeeper Ryan O’Neill made a series of good saves to keep Banbridge’s lead. However with less than five minutes to go Bangor were able to equalise.

This was the second consecutive week where Banbridge had conceded a late goal to drop points. The feeling at the end was of two points dropped reflecting the superiority of the Banbridge play for much of the game.
