They beat Lithuania 2-0 in the quarter-finals with Megan scoring from the penalty spot much to the delight of the travelling Foyle supporters.

In the semi-finals on Saturday they cruised past Belarus scoring seven goals with no reply.

The final on Sunday against Canada was a more even affair which ended 1-1 after full time. Ireland won the ensuing penalty shoot-out 4-3.

This earns the Irish team a place at the Olympic Qualifiers in June when they will have realistic expectations of reaching the Rio Olympics in 2016.
