Friendlies get underway for Slane teams

THERE have been several preseason away matches confirmed for the Senior teams.

On Saturday the firsts took on Strathroy Harps and on Monday night Glen Moffett’s team took on Armagh Blues at Cheney Park.

both outings were beneficial to get the players match fit for the opening day of the new season on Saturday August 14.

The Firsts have two further away friendlies pencilled in for July when they take on Valley Rangers on Tuesday July 27 and Loughgall on Saturday July 31.

The Reserves take on Amateur League side Woodvale FC from West Belfast this Saturday July 24, with a 12 midday kick off and Valley Rangers Seconds on Tuesday July 27. Ian Johnstone’s team begin their league campaign the following Saturday August 21.

The Thirds start their Newcastle League campaign in September and have been training well and will hit the ground running in Division Three of the Newcastle and District League next season along with Banbridge Rangers Seconds, Ballyvea Thirds, Castlewellan Thirds, Carryduff Colts, Down Celtic Seconds, Kirkistown, Maghera Seconds, Saintfield AYC Seconds, Strangford Seconds and Valley Rangers Thirds.
