Future star Chloe gains her first cap

A promising Coleraine footballer rubbed shoulders with one of her idols at a special event at Stormont recently.

Chloe McCarron (15) is a pupil at Coleraine College, she was honoured along with her Northern Ireland Under 17 team mates at Stormont when she was presented with her Northern Ireland cap by Northern Ireland international David Healy.

Alfie Wylie, Nothern Ireland Ladies International Manager, hosted the evening in the Stormont Hotel.

He paid tribute to the girls and their parents, for their effort and commitment to football.

Chloe is a regular to the Northern Ireland set up, she was part of the team that won the Home Nations U15 Bob Doherty tournament and has now moved up to the Under 17 squad featuring for the side in the recent U17 UEFA European Championships.

Chloe played her junior football at Coleraine Ladies before moving on to Ballymena United All Stars.

She now makes the trip to Cookstown twice a week to play with Mid Ulster’s Under 17s.

The skillful footballer has already picked up ‘Manager’s Player of the Year’ in her first season.

And she is currently playing a starring role in the U17 league for the side.
