“History-making” coaches Martin McKinless and Fabian Muldoon have overseen a period of amazing success for the Mid-Ulster club including winning the Derry Senior League, two Ulster Senior League titles, three Derry Senior Championships in a row, and the Shamrocks’ third Ulster Senior Championship in 2013.

“This represents a magnificent return for two proud volunteers and club members, both former players,” the club’s statement to the press said.

“On behalf of all the members of Ballinderry Shamrocks GAC we wish to place on record our sincere appreciation for their commitment and dedication over this past three years along with their wider management team.

“Martin and Fabian leave behind the legacy of a very well prepared and motivated senior football team who will, in true Shamrocks fashion, relish the season ahead defending the county and provincial titles in Derry and Ulster.

“We wish Fabian and wife Claire well on a well-earned break from playing and, subsequently, coaching duties.

“To Martin and his wife Michelle we thank them for five years at the helm over the past eight years...and we hope that they can now enjoy as parents watching their sons, Gareth and Daniel, continue to represent Derry and Ballinderry respetively.”
