Gamble first home for Seapark

To ring in the New Year, 11 runners from Seapark Athletics Club took part in Ballymena Runners ‘Race over the Glens’ event - a run which has now become a customary festive tradition.

Record numbers participated in the increasingly popular race at the scenic Glenariff Forest Park, just outside Waterfoot.

Running for Seapark and the first finisher for the club was Davy Gamble who finished in a commendable time of 41:24 to secure 20th place. Next over the line with an impressive time of 44:40 was Davy Turtle. Bobbie Irvine was the third runner home for the club in 46:09. Ian Cleland finished in 48:01, Neil Porter in 48:09, Gillian Cordner in 50:51, and Gary Connolly in 52:31. Mark Campbell and Mark Welsh crossed the line together in 55:35 and 55:41, respectively. Neil Reynolds had a great run finishing in 59:50 and Vivien Davidson crossed the line in a fantastic time of 1:03:14.

The club is also delighted to announce that it have moved to a new base - Carrickfegus Cricket Club, Middle Club, Carrickfergus. The Cricket Club have kindly offered Seapark AC use of their facilities.

The club meets Tuesday and Thursday at 6:45pm to start runs at 7:00pm, at Carrickfergus Cricket Club. The club is affiliated with the Northern Ireland Athletics Federation and is open to men, women and minors over the age of 14.
