Garvey and Valley reach the last four after success in their NIBA Cups

Lisnagarvey and Lagan Valley have reached the semi-final stages of their respective NIBA Cups.

Garvey won by 21 shots away to Castle in the quarter final of the Senior Cup on Wednesday night and now meet the winner of the Donaghadee v Dromore semi-final, which was to be played on Wednesday night.

If Dromore win there is certain to be a local team in the final on Thursday, July 23. The semi-final is due to be played on Thursday, July 2.

Lagan Valley cruised into the last four in the NIBA Intermediate Cup on Tuesday night when they beat Glengormley by 21 shots at the Recreation Centre.

They were up on all four rinks, though Jim Spence had to produce a great fight back to get his five shots win. The other success came from Jeff Fawcus, Jim Parkinson and Jim Kinkead.

They will play Antrim in the semi-final on Wednesday, July 1.

Hilden added to the successes on Saturday when they travelled to Dublin in the IBA Intermediate Cup and beat Westmanstown by 36 shots.

They won on all four rinks and are home to Sydenham in the quarter finals on Saturday, July 25.

Lisnagarvey B, Dromore B and Finaghy, who only lost by a shot, all went out.
