Garvey B win by six points as Brett grabs victory for Valley

LISNAGARVEY B took six points from a 17 shots win away to Portadown B in NIBA Division Four.

Bobby Carroll was three shots ahead going into the last end but dropped a double to win by a shot.

At the last end Alton Reid was 15-14 ahead but he dropped a double to lose by a shot.

Derek Porter was always in control and won by ten shots and Denis Rankin was always in control too, but he dropped a five at the last end though winning by seven shots.

Brett Kirk grabbed a win for Lagan Valley with his final bowls when the two shots gave the team a one shot win over First Ballymacarrett in NIBA Division Five.

They took five points from the game from which they appeared likely to finish with one point for most of the time.

Ahead 6-5 at the tenth but 8-13 down at 15 ends after dropping a six Wilfie Benson lost by those six shots.

Despite lifting two threes Brett Kirk was 8-15 down at the tenth and 12-17 at 14 ends after lifting a three. But, Valley only dropped another shot on the way to a five shots win.

Down 6-11 at the tenth and 10-13 at 15 ends Jeff Fawcus pulled back over the closing ends though losing by two shots.

Down 8-12 at the tenth Jim Kinkead came back to lead 17-14 at 15 ends after lifting a six and went on to win by four shots.
