Garvey come back to earth

LISNAGARVEY came back down to earth following a good start to the season, when they lost by 29 shots though they did take two points away to Newcastle in the NIWBA Senior League on Thursday.

Down 0-13 at the fourth Joyce Lyness came back to 5-15 at the ninth and was 7-28 at 15 ends before losing by 24 shots.

A four helped Vera McCourt to a 7-2 lead at the fourth and with the help of a three Garvey led 14-7 at the tenth and 17-12 at 15 ends before finishing with a three to win by ten shots.

Down 3-7 at the sixth and 6-8 at the ninth Iris Scott lifted a four and was 14-11 ahead at 15 ends. Garvey finished with a four to win by five shots.

Down 1-18 at the ninth Kay McCully won five of the next seven ends but was still 8-24 down and Garvey lost by 20 shots.
