They entertain University College Dublin and have a difficult task in front of them. UCD caused a great upset in the last round when against the odds they defeated Instonians by 3-2 so Garvey will have to be at their best to reach the quarter final stage.

The visitors’ team includes a number of Ireland squad members including Peter Brown, the ex Banbridge player. They sit high in the Leinster league having recorded some fine results against the more well known clubs in Dublin.

Garvey, having played some of their best hockey in their last game against Instonians two weeks ago, hope to have two of their key players back in the squad.

Jason Lynch, having suffered a recurrence of his thigh strain, hopes to be in action while Andy Williamson should have recovered from his fractured finger sustained against Dublin YMCA in the first round of the competition.

A full squad will hope to put in a performance which will take them closer to their goal of winning the Irish Senior Cup.
